“No matter the problem, Lauren works diligently to craft creative, sensible, and realistic solutions for clients that resolve issues with practicality and efficiency.”
Lauren joined Rottenberg Lipman Rich as a Senior Associate in 2023. Her practice, which is divided between litigation and daily client counseling, primarily focuses on labor and employment, intellectual property, and entertainment law. Prior to joining RLR, Lauren worked at a national law firm in its labor and employment group where she litigated for employers in matters involving trade secret misappropriation, restrictive covenants, unfair labor practice charges, single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and whistleblower complaints and single-plaintiff and class/collective wage and hour disputes as well as employment practices liability insurance and directors & officers claims. Lauren practices before the courts of New York, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia as well as federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, New York State Division of Human Rights, New York City Commission on Human Rights, and New Jersey State Division on Civil Rights, and is also certified as a New Jersey court-trained mediator.
Lauren has extensive experience rendering day-to-day legal advice and works to arm clients with the knowledge necessary to take a proactive approach to protect themselves, their careers, and their businesses. She advises clients on a wide range of legal issues, including hiring, terminations, layoffs, leave laws, reasonable accommodations, wage and hour laws, and executive, separation, post-employment restrictive covenants, independent contractor, and other employment-related agreements as well as crafting employee handbooks and standalone policies such as equal employment opportunity, harassment, accommodation, paid time off, drug testing in the workplace, and vaccination policies, and conducting investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation in the workplace.
Lauren believes public service is vital to participation in the legal profession. Before she entered private practice, Lauren served as a judicial law clerk in the Civil and Appellate Divisions of the New Jersey Superior Court and as a judicial intern in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Lauren earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she served on the executive editorial board of the Brooklyn Law Review, and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Southern California. Prior to the study of law, Lauren was an independent freelance producer for stage, film, television, and live events. With a wealth of experience in the entertainment industry, Lauren remains an advocate for artists in the New York City area, having served, since 2010, as a founding board member of Sightline Arts, Inc., a not-for-profit arts services organization which supports devised, science-themed, and socially minded projects that provide opportunities for women in the arts.
