“As a litigator whose practice focuses on a broad range of complex actions, my singular focus is always the client’s best interest.”
Stacy has been a member of Rottenberg Lipman Rich since 2014. Prior to joining the firm, she was a litigation associate with Proskauer Rose LLP and Of Counsel to Schoeman Updike Kaufman & Stern. She also has served as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Research and Writing at Seton Hall University School of Law
Stacy’s practice comprises both matrimonial/family law litigation and commercial litigation. In her matrimonial practice, Stacy helps both husbands and wives navigate divorce, equitable distribution, custody, child support and maintenance. In her commercial practice, she serves a client base that spans both plaintiffs and defendants, public and private companies, and individuals.
On behalf of clients in the commercial arena, Stacy has successfully:
- Achieved a $650,000 money judgment in an action for breach of contract and an account stated where an attorney’s former client failed to pay her legal fees at the conclusion of her divorce proceeding.
- Secured $1,335,000 in compensatory damages for defamation following the successful, six-day arbitration before a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority panel. Stacy (with partner Harry Lipman) convinced the panel to find in favor of quantitative trader Kieran Fitzgerald against his former employer Sun Trading LLC, a high-frequency trading firm. The three-member panel also recommended full “expungement” from Mr. Fitzgerald’s industry record of Sun’s false statements concerning his termination from the firm.
- Represented a residential condominium apartment building and its Board in arbitration following the Sponsor’s failure to construct the building in accordance with the Offering Plan.
- Defended a multinational banking and financial services corporation accused of ERISA violations.
- Defended a blood collection and distribution organization in multiple actions alleging transmission of blood-borne disease.
- Defended an automobile manufacturer in cases involving negligence, product liability and consumer fraud.
Stacy received her B.A. from the University of Illinois and her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was Managing Editor of the Journal of International and Comparative Law. She is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and New Jersey, as well as the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Stacy is the former Co-President of the JCO of Northern Bergen County, a not-for-profit charitable organization based in Northern New Jersey. Currently, she serves on the Board of Trustees of Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley and is a Practice Advisor for LexisNexis.
